Type species : Mycenella (as Oudemansiella) kuehnerii Romagn.

Basidiomata collybioid, diminutive to sturdy, rooting. Pileipellis generally composed of a single element (pileocystidia; see under D. kuehneri for deviation), viscid. Pleuro- and cheilocystidia as in hymenopellis. Caulocystidia present, usually repent. Basidiospores globose to subglobose, coarsely warted  / spiny. Pseudorhiza present. Annulus lacking. Mostly South and Central America (one species in Europe).
